Have you heard the latest? As of August, our Corsham branch will be offering aesthetics treatments! This fantastic news means that you’ll be able to receive both dental and aesthetics treatments in the same place – isn’t that exciting?
We’re thrilled to be adding aesthetics treatments to our Corsham treatment list, but if you’re wondering just what this means, don’t worry, you’re in the right place. Aesthetics treatments can work wonders when it comes to increasing your confidence and are a safe and practical way of doing so.
In this blog, we’re going to talk you through the procedures that will be available to you in Corsham from August. Let’s get started.
We’ll be offering two aesthetics procedures: wrinkle corrections and dermal fillers. Both are injectable treatments used for facial rejuvenation and for restoring your natural, youthful appearance.
Crucially, we won’t try to create a look for you that isn’t what you desire. Our goal is to restore what was lost – not fashion something that was never there to start with! If you’re after a slightly less natural look, our aesthetic treatments might not be what you’re looking for.
If you’re still unsure, we fully understand and are well aware that aesthetics treatments can seem confusing and overwhelming. Over the years, they have developed a less-than-perfect reputation, which often leads to people making assumptions that have no basis in truth. This is something we’re hoping to change.
Even now, aesthetics treatments continue to grow in popularity and, on the whole, the industry has done a fantastic job of showing the public what they can do.
Dermal fillers are injectables that can be used to treat areas of the face that have lost their shape over time. This is achieved by increasing the skin’s natural supply of hyaluronic acid, which, in turn, stimulates the production of its connective tissues. Hyaluronic acid attracts water and binds it to hydrate the skin from within.
All dermal fillers essentially work in the same way, however, we do carry two different filler brands: JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®.
These fillers promise similar results, but some people find Restylane® to be slightly longer-lasting. The main difference between the two is that JUVÉDERM® is a smooth gel that will naturally diffuse into the facial tissue whereas Restylane® is granular in consistency, which requires it to be smoothed out on application.
Wrinkle correction differs from dermal fillers, and despite its name, can also be used to address fine lines. In this procedure, a muscle relaxant is used to impede the stimulation of facial nerves, which leads to wrinkles looking smoother and less defined. This treatment is particularly effective around the eyes as a treatment for crow’s feet and the forehead, in order to minimise frown lines.
If you’re feeling self-conscious about lines and wrinkles near your eyes, between your eyebrows or anywhere else on your face, wrinkle correction can help. We can take years off your appearance and boost your confidence when doing so.
If you’re wondering when you’ll see results or if the treatments mentioned above hurt, you’ll find the most commonly asked questions below.
When will I see the results?
If you’ve had one of our wrinkle correction treatments, you’ll be able to see a difference within 2-3 days. You can expect to see results from our dermal fillers straight away. The most noticeable of these is an immediate change in volume, with the full results becoming more visible as your skin settles a few days later.
How long will the results last?
The results of our wrinkle treatments will last for around 3 months. Dermal fillers, on the other hand, will last longer, 6-12 months to be precise. As it is made from a substance that naturally occurs in the body, the filler will break down over time.
Do injectables hurt?
You might experience some mild discomfort during an injectable procedure, but this may depend on your individual tolerance for pain. Some numbing cream can be used to minimise this.
Is there any downtime required?
With injectable treatments, there’s no downtime per se. You may experience some swelling or bruising but this will fade after a few days. If you’re planning on attending an event, we would suggest you get your fillers done in advance for good measure! We would also advise that you avoid strenuous activities for around 24 hours, and try not to sleep on the area of treatment. Ice anything that feels sore.
If you have any further questions about our aesthetics treatments, please feel free to get in touch!
