Our popular dermal filler treatments are a guaranteed way to boost your self-confidence and make your skin appear youthful again.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are an increasingly popular way of making your skin look youthful in areas where the visible signs of ageing are taking their toll on your overall appearance. They are injectable treatments that work by improving the texture and the tone of the skin. Dermal fillers can also be used to expertly contour the face, as well as reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which can age the face dramatically.
What type of dermal fillers do you offer?
At Aurora Dental and Implant Clinics, we offer two types of dermal filler:
- JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®. Both are injectable cosmetic products that contain hyaluronic acid and work to bind water in the skin. This rehydrates the face and creates a more youthful appearance by making the skin more plump. The two dermal fillers we offer achieve similar results, however, some patients find Restylane® to be slightly longer lasting.
- The fillers we use are different in consistency, which alters the application process slightly. Restylane® is granular and therefore needs to be smoothed out on application. JUVÉDERM®, on the other hand, is a smooth gel that will naturally diffuse into the facial tissue.
Does it hurt to have dermal fillers?
Both JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® are delivered via a series of injections into the face. As with any injection, you may experience a small amount of discomfort, however, this should be minimal and short-lived. Anaesthetic cream may also be used to make sure the procedure is as comfortable and pain-free as possible.
How long can I expect dermal fillers to last?
Results achieved by dermal fillers will vary depending on the type of filler used and where the filler is injected. As hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body, it will break down over time. In general, fillers can be expected to last anywhere between 6 and 12 months.
