Welcome to our February newsletter! It has certainly been a long and difficult winter for many of us, but we’re feeling the love this month as the days become brighter (how beautiful has the weather been this past week?), Spring fast approaches and the vaccination programme rolls out to more of the population. We’re feeling so positive that with every COVID-19 vaccine administered, we are stepping closer and closer to life returning to some degree of normality. More than 15 million people in the UK (including most of our team members) have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine!
The end of the current national lockdown is in sight, but it is important we continue to support each other through these challenging times. All of us at Aurora Dental & Implant Clinic would like to reassure you that we remain open for all your dental care needs. Our team continues to maintain the highest infection control standards at our practices, in accordance with social distancing guidelines in order to ensure the health and safety of our patients and team at all times.

We hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day this weekend and got to spend some time with your loved ones – even if only virtually. We’re feeling the love this month – we feel very grateful to have a wonderful team to come to work with every day and fantastic patients who we love to treat!
Teeth Whitening and Composite Bonding are two of our most frequently requested treatments at Aurora Dental. As you will know from our previous newsletters, we were recently promoted to a Regional Centre of Excellence for Enlighten Teeth Whitening. Enlighten is the world’s best performing whitening treatment – guaranteeing Vita Shade B1 (that’s white!).
At your first appointment we will take an impression of your teeth to make your custom whitening trays. Once your trays arrive with us, you will wear them each night, filled with whitening gel, for up to two weeks. Following your at-home treatment you will attend the practice for a ‘power’ whitening session with one of our clinicians to seal your new, white smile. Amazing results in just a few weeks!
Composite bonding is a minimally invasive cosmetic dental treatment which uses a white, tooth-like material to make slight alterations to the appearance of your teeth to change the shape, size or symmetry of your smile. It is a fantastic treatment option if you are looking to make a small but very effective change to your teeth to achieve a more perfect ‘look’.

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted almost every aspect of our lives and our eating habits are no exception. Many of us are now snacking more, especially during lockdown periods.
A Public Health England survey revealed that since the pandemic began, 35% of people say they tuck into an unhealthy snack or drink at least once a day – up from 26% this time last year.
If you’re snacking more frequently at the moment, switching to nutritious snacks such as fruit, vegetables and low-fat dairy products can be extremely beneficial to your overall health. It is also important that you regularly clean your teeth to remove plaque that can build up in your mouth and potentially cause tooth decay and gum disease.
An electric toothbrush could be just what you need to make it even easier to maintain good oral hygiene. Don’t forget to clean between your teeth too – you can use interdental brushes, dental floss or a water flosser to do this effectively. Most importantly, don’t forget to visit the hygienist for your essential regular professional teeth cleaning appointments. The hygienist will remove any hard plaque from your teeth and leave them sparkling clean and healthy, therefore preventing tooth decay and reducing the likelihood of future issues.
Last week we celebrated our wonderful Apprentice Dental Nurses – Katie and Lottie – during National Apprenticeship Week.
Katie and Lottie are such great additions to the Aurora Dental team; always welcoming our patients with a smile and always working as hard as they possibly can. Thank you to both of you!
We are currently welcoming new patients to Aurora Dental & Implant Clinic in Corsham, Chippenham and Swindon.
Pick up some referral cards from our reception and pass on to a friend or family member and receive a £10 Aurora Dental gift voucher!
Thank you to of all the team at Aurora Dental practice for their excellent care, attention and first class treatment today. I have been with the practice for many years and they have always been extremely welcoming and friendly. The safety measures in operation during the current restrictions were very reassuring and I had no cause for concern whilst on the premises. A special thank you to Claire my hygienist and Richard my dentist.
A very modern clinic with the latest technology equipment. The staff are always extremely professional and helpful and treatments are always explained in detail. I have been a client for several years and have always been happy with the treatment and service. They keep you updated on a regular basis and I like the fact that I get reminders by text and email as to when my next appointment should be booked. There isn’t a high staff turnover which I feel speaks for itself. I find it reassuring that I am familiar with the Staff.
