Implant retained dentures are a cost-effective way to replace missing teeth and restore your smile.
In contrast to traditional dentures which are secured by adhesive and can be removed from the mouth, implant retained dentures are fixed in place surgically. They are therefore more robust, offering a more permanent and hassle-free solution to missing teeth.
For implant retained dentures, you will first need a short procedure during which an implant surgeon will secure a series of implants in the jawbone. Once healed (approximately 3 to 6 months later), your dentist will take a mould of your mouth to make sure your bespoke dentures are carefully crafted to fit perfectly. Once made, your dentures can simply be clipped into the implants in your jawbone.
Implants are fitted under local anaesthetic to optimise your comfort throughout the procedure. You may experience some mild discomfort during recovery which can be treated with over-the-counter pain medication.
